About Us

Historically, guilds were associations of people who banded together for mutual aid or the pursuit of a common goal. Sometimes they were organized as a professional association, a trade union, a cartel, a secret society, or even a hybrid structure. All for one; and one for all. CHANGEGUILD is a not-so-secret, modern iteration on this theme.

We Know Change Management

We are stewards, artisans, and champions of organizational change management. We are proud change nerds, ready to help you tackle change and all its permutations in today's VUCA business world (organizational readiness and effectiveness, change leadership, journey management, change management training, etc.).

We are self-identified "chaos junkies" who gravitate to and excel in messy projects and relish the chance to roll up our sleeves and get up to our elbows in change management processes. Our wide range of backgrounds blend our unique real-world experiences, theories, and passions to help solve complex challenges for our clients. Our goal is to create incremental changes that drive new behaviors, build resilience, and deliver meaningful results.

We are experts in change management consulting

Not only do we have the gravitas to work with the C-suite on strategy, but we also have the empathy to work with middle management, as well as foxhole experience to work with frontline employees. Nobody is left out of our focus.

Like a Swiss Army Knife of change management tools, we are able to apply any change-enabling system that fits an organization, as well as build capacity in existing change infrastructures. Though we're methodology agnostic, we are well-versed and certified in a number of tools. This has helped us to build a particular set of change management skills (acquired over long and interesting careers).

We live and breathe change

We are dedicated to helping individuals, teams, and organizations navigate and thrive in an increasingly complex business environment. We view culture as software that can be hacked and are always looking for new ways to unlock internal creativity capabilities and help our clients scale their transformation efforts.

Change management is a community, and we take pride in being active in it. We believe change management is a big umbrella that has broad impacts for or is related to such popular hashtags as: #Agile, #FutureOfWork, #Innovation, #Engagement, #Disruption, #VUCA, #OrganizationalStrategy, #StrategicPlanning, #Leadership, #OrganizationalDesign, #BusinessModel, #DesignThinking, #ChangeLeadership, #OrgChange, #Strategy, #Resilience, #Culture,  #Strategery, #SpeedToMarket, #Transformation.

The CHANGEGUILD logo not only incorporates our initials, but combines the icons of a shield and that of a power button. We dig it. Hope you do, too.

There was an idea. To bring together a group of remarkable people. To see if we could become something more. So when they needed us, we could fight the battles…

I have been a leader in the Midwest change management community for more than fifteen years and have created change interventions at all levels - from one-on-one leader coaching to massive global IT deployments and enterprise-wide transformations. I co-founded an Inc500 award-winning professional staffing and consulting firm and was the chief instigator of the Minnesota Change Management Network, a professional association that nurtures the change management professional community in the Twin Cities.

I created CHANGEGUILD to be a consultancy at the forefront of Organizational Change Management and a driver of the Twin Cities change management ecosystem. My goal is to bring change management to a broader audience through a new, on-demand business model.

If you need help navigating change, I'm ready to help.

THE CREW

DAVID QUIMBY

Innovator-in-Residence

I am a mathematical economist and systems analyst. I have rotated through various cycles at the extremes of large enterprise and small enterprise as a technology executive and a software entrepreneur. My expertise includes knowledge management, technological forecasting, and systematic innovation; I am also a thought leader in the application of systems engineering to organizational design. I have conducted business process re-engineering (BPR) in the large-enterprise domain and I have led large-scale technical integration in the context of mergers and acquisitions. I am a co-founder of Minnesota Change Management Network (MNCMN); I have presented to professional communities on various topics around data science, product management, business architecture, and systems engineering. I am a patented inventor in the user experience and Web middleware domain; I collaborated with Doug Engelbart, the inventor of the graphical user interface (GUI), at Stanford Research Institute. I earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematical economics and developmental economics at UCLA and a master’s degree in organizational behavior and socio-technical systems at UC - Berkeley.

As a consultant with over fifteen years under my belt in transformational, operational and problem-solving engagements, I have developed my ‘value-add’ approach to practice by working with all members of the client teams to transfer and sustain success.  Clients range from companies of all sizes to nonprofits to individual leaders all needing support through multidimensional change. The bigger the challenge, the better the “fit” for my “sweet spot’ , from trusted advisor to the “C-Suite” to giving voice and content to the front line folks and enabling typically capacity-challenged leaders in between. I am a practitioner with the unique ability to develop a change strategy aligned with the business/project work including the development and execution of supporting tactical action plans. I am currently serving as the President of the MNCMN.

Do you have a lot going on in your organization and you’re unsure of how to make it all work? I am ready to help!
